1. Information we collect

Arkley Schools collects and uses information needed to provide a private, school-managed communication service. Depending on a person's role and use of Arkley Connect, this may include:

• Parent, teacher, administrator, and other authorized user account information.
• Student or child information needed to link a family with the appropriate child, class, or school account.
• Classroom updates, activities, and related school information.
• Photos or images uploaded by authorized school staff.
• Parent-teacher and School Office messages.
• Staff messages where applicable to the user's school role.
• Technical, device, log, and security information needed to operate, protect, troubleshoot, and maintain the service.

2. Camera and photo library access

Camera access occurs only when an authorized user chooses to take a photo. Photo-library access occurs only when an authorized user chooses an image to upload.

Arkley Connect does not record audio or video. Arkley Connect does not use microphone access for its current functionality. Selected images are used for private school and family communication, and for profile or classroom functionality within the authorized Arkley Connect service.

3. How we use information

Arkley Schools uses information to:

• Operate and provide Arkley Connect.
• Link students with their authorized parents, guardians, teachers, and other staff.
• Provide classroom updates and activities to the appropriate school users.
• Facilitate communication between families, teachers, the School Office, and staff where applicable.
• Maintain safety, security, troubleshooting, service integrity, and reliable administration of the service.

4. Who can see information

• Parents and guardians can access information appropriate to their linked child and account.
• Teachers and administrators receive access according to their school role and responsibilities.
• Classroom photos and student-related content are intended for authorized Arkley Connect users, not the general public.
• Messages are available to the intended participants and appropriate school personnel according to the relevant school role and communication.

Access is managed by the school and the service's account and role controls. Users should not share content from Arkley Connect outside the school community without appropriate permission.

5. Service providers

Arkley Schools uses service providers and infrastructure needed to operate Arkley Connect, including cloud hosting, database, authentication, storage, security, and related service providers. Supabase provides verified database, authentication, and storage infrastructure used by Arkley Connect. These providers process information on Arkley Schools' behalf and do not own the information submitted by families or the school.

6. Data sharing

Arkley Schools does not sell personal information. Information may be shared with service providers acting on Arkley Schools' behalf when needed to operate, secure, or support Arkley Connect. Information may also be disclosed when required by law, legal process, or a legitimate request from a public authority, or when reasonably necessary to protect the safety, rights, or security of users, children, the school, or the service.

7. Children and student data

Arkley Connect is a school-managed service. Student data is provided and managed in connection with enrollment, classroom communication, and school operations. Access to student information is restricted to authorized parents or guardians and authorized teachers, administrators, and staff according to their school role.

Student information is not used for behavioral advertising.

8. Data retention and deletion requests

Arkley Schools retains information for as long as reasonably necessary for school operations, legal obligations, safety and security, and service administration. Retention may also depend on the school relationship, account status, and the nature of the information.

Parents and guardians may contact Arkley Schools about correction, deletion, or other privacy requests. Arkley Schools will review requests in light of school records, legal obligations, safety needs, and the operation of Arkley Connect.

9. Security

Arkley Schools uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information from unauthorized access, misuse, alteration, or loss. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so users should also protect their accounts and report concerns promptly.

10. Account access and security

Users are responsible for protecting their login credentials and should not share them with another person. If you suspect that your account has been accessed without permission, contact Arkley Schools promptly so the school can review the issue and take appropriate steps.

11. Changes to this policy

Arkley Schools may update this Privacy Policy when Arkley Connect, school operations, or applicable requirements change. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised effective or last-updated date.
